NCTB Challenges are held approximately every six to eight weeks. Our bear & critter making challenges are designed to get you thinking outside  of the box.

Now of course, we want you to be able to say that you've completed a beautiful piece of art, but we also want you to be able to sell your creation if you so desire.    So ...  not only do we display the challenge works in our Gallery, we also set up specific challenge dates in conjunction with Bid 4 Bears.  This allows you to list your bear for sale or swap, and compete for fun prizes while doing so!

So get out your supplies and start creating.  Just follow the guidelines on the bottom of the page and choose your challenges from the schedule. Compete in as many as you like and enter as often as you like!

Challenge Guidelines

Bears, Gollies, Dollies and other critters may be entered. Creations may be made from any material and may be the size of your choice. All entries must be in keeping with the theme of the challenge in which they are entered.  Entries using patterns not designed by the entrant must credit the designer to avoid copyright infringement.

Challenge creations can be uploaded by the participant into our challenge gallery. The administration at NCTB will not upload photos for you.  You can upload your photo to the gallery regardless of whether you list it or not on Bid 4 Bears.

A random selection of the bears submitted will be displayed on the NCTB web site, within the Gallery as well as in the  NCTB Newsletter.

To Be Eligible for the Random Draw Prize

Participants competing for challenge draw list their bear on Bid 4 Bears on the date given for a particular challenge to run as a 3, 5 or 7 day auction. Only bears listed on Bid 4 Bears are eligible for the random prize drawing.

All bears listed on Bid 4 Bears that have the title of the challenge in the title of the listing, and whose submission is in keeping with the current challenge theme will be entered into a random draw for the Challenge Prize.  For instance:  If the theme is Spring Thing Challenge, then the Bid 4 Bears listing MUST have Spring Thing Challenge in the Listing Title to be entered into the draw.

You may enter as many challenge pieces as you like.
