The Global Heart-Warming Mission

What is it? Chinook has embarked on an tour around the world.

Chinook will billet with people globally, who love teddy bears and who share an interest in our mission. Hosts to Chinook will send back photos and stories of his adventures to be shared on this web site.

What is Chinook's Mission? His mission is to visit with teddy bear enthusiasts worldwide, promoting the spread of Global Heart-Warming. His charge is to spread words of hope and works of kindness to everyone he comes in contact with. Those who meet him are encouraged to complete one act of kindness. It could be something as simple as an encouraging word to someone who needs it. In promoting these works, we hope to make the world a better place ... one good deed at a time.

Chinook will also promote an awareness of Rotary International and their fight to eradicate Polio in children around the world. As you may know, Margaret Steiff, the pioneer of the teddy bear, also suffered from this dreadful disease.

What is Rotary and Polio Plus? Rotary is an organization of business and professional persons, united worldwide, who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations and help build goodwill and peace in the world.

Polio Plus is Rotary's massive effort to eradicate poliomyelitis from the planet. Launched in 1985, it may be considered one of the greatest humanitarian services the world has ever seen. Rotary works with the World Health Organization, UNICEF, national governments and others in the global Polio Eradication Initiative. To date some 4 million children, who might have been victims, are walking and playing normally as a result of the program. Polio can be eradicated for as little as .50 worth of vaccine per child. Efforts are currently focused on Africa, the Middle East and South Asia. Read more or make a donation by clicking on the Rotary link at the top of the page.
